Our Busy Little Life

What a whirlwind! We have been so busy. Halloween, Dance, Scouts, Marching Band and more!

We really have been having so much fun though!

Area Marching Contest was Oct. 27. Randy’s band advanced to state so tomorrow—we will be headed to San Antonio! The kids were such troopers during Area. It was a long day/night but so worth it!

Randy’s Birthday was the next day and Halloween the next Wednesday! Since it was going to rain Wednesday, we decided to do Trunk or Treat on Monday with Randy’s band!

Then this past Friday night, Randy’s family came to watch his game! We had a blast at the last home football game!

The next day, we went to NAMMB in Nacogdoches!  Randy’s band placed 1st in class 4A!

To say Livi has had enough band is an understatement. Lol. She loves her daddy though so as soon as she sees him on the field, she lights up!

So today, we will do dance, scouts, laundry, pack and head to San Antonio tomorrow! We are so proud of Randy! Happy Monday!

Hillary

Loving the Temperatures!

We are LOVING this fall weather...except for the rain. Goodness, enough already! We have been rained on twice this week just watching Randy’s band! Lol. Olivia says, “not cool.”

We had a busy week though! We went to Mineola to watch The Blue Brigade March. It rained but the band did awesome!

The next day, I took the kids for flu shots. I didn’t tell them until seconds before. Lol. It worked like a charm! This is the before picture.

Randy is in full prepper mode getting ready for his scout campout with Rex! He bought a tent that goes on the back of his truck. We had to do a dry run!

Other than that, Livi and I did our normal preschool stuff and I had another follow up with my oral surgeon. I landed myself in the ER this past weekend with another issue. I had to follow up with him again after that. Bad news is, I’m not out of the woods yet. We will just take it a step at a time though.

Honestly, the kids have worn me out this week (some weeks are just like that I guess) but sometimes they can be super sweet too!

We attempted to go to Randy’s game last night but we had to leave early. It was raining and cold.

So, here’s to hoping for less raining and continued great temperatures!

Have a great week!

Hillary

Sunday Share

What a weekend! We have had some great times (Friday night watching Randy’s band) and some trying times (#momlife) But...it is Sunday. SH is out of school tomorrow so Rex and Randy will be home! Yay! Randy has a band contest in Mineola that afternoon so I will be taking the kiddos to watch that!

When we are super busy (helllllooo football season) my cooking game can be shabby. However, I wanted to share my five favorite fall recipes that my family loves too!

Zuppa Toscana (Olive Garden Copy Cat)

A Randy Kiser favorite! He loves this soup! It really does taste like Olive Garden’s too! The kids like it but basically eat around the green.

Hawaiian Ham and Swiss Sliders

Who am I kidding, we eat these all year. However, they are so easy when you don’t have much time! The kids gobble them up and so does Randy! They are definitely a win!

Ground Turkey Sweet Potato Skillet

I know you are thinking that kids wouldn’t like this. But they actually love it. The seasoning is so great and I love the colors. I will say, Randy doesn’t love this one but we can’t win them all! :)

Taco Soup

Who doesn’t love taco soup!? Nothing fancy here...I just love this recipe!

Ham and Cheese Tortellini

Okay, when I first made this—I had some weird looks from my husband. Ham? Really? It is SO GOOD THOUGH! Not healthy at all, but great comfort food! Lol. It is by far my kid’s favorite meal ever! Funny thing is, they don’t like tortellini with marinara sauce.

That’s five! Five easy and yummy meals! I’m not a recipe guru but wanted to share these because they are a win with my bunch!

So bring on the week! I get to take these monkeys for flu shots on Tuesday. Say a prayer...for me! Lol. Once they hit that room...they know. It is madness.

XOXO,

Hillary

Fall in the Kiser House

Fall is busy with so much fun (and crazy) around here in the Kiser house. There are football games, baking fall treats, dance classes, scout meetings, and endless fall crafts! I’m in the process of trying to make a goals list for fall. I’m doing the Last 90 Day Challenge from Rachel and Dave Hollis—but I’m modifying it to meet my needs.

Concept being, end the year on a high point instead of saying “I’ll start _______ in 2019!” Anyway, it’s pretty amazing and has made me rethink the last 90 days of the year. I’ll blog more about this next week!

How are The Kisers?

Livi is still doing wonderful in dance! She’s also learning great social skills too through taking this class!

Rex is loving Pack 621 this year for scouts. We loved our group last year but this was just a better fit for us.

Mr. Black let him lead the Scout Law in front of the group at the last scout meeting. Rex really enjoyed doing this and I was very proud of him!

Livi and I have been going on walks almost everyday! I’m still doing the FWTFL and these walks help keep me going (along with the workouts! Lol.)

I’m down almost 20 inches and 9 lbs! I’m loving this program! (More coming on that later too!)

I’ve also made it a priority to try to see Rex more at school and eating lunch with him is our favorite!

What a weekend!

I got to see my BEST FRIEND! I know, that should happen often right? It doesn’t. I mean we Marco Polo 400 times a day but I actually got to hug her neck!

The kids got some much needed time at Gam and Paw’s this weekend! Randy and I had some much needed alone time!

They were tuckered out but had a blast!

Remember that busy part I talked about? Football games have become our favorites! Gah guys, you remember seeing me...two years ago...Livi on the hip...screaming because it was too loud and she wanted Daddy to hold her. It was SO HARD! Now, they are actually FUN!

But him...this guy...I’m so proud of Randy and his band...I just love that man so much! I didn’t take this picture below! :) But I LOVE IT!

Finally...motherhood. Guys, it’s hard. I love it with every ounce of me—at times. Other times, I’m on the struggle bus. I don’t want to miss a minute, yet I just want to watch Netflix all day. Right? Okay, not really but just know this...we ALL struggle. The pictures are pretty and perfect...but we ALL struggle! So, do what you can. Do your best. Or even if it isn’t your best...that’s okay too.

XOXO, Hillary
